Online Student Technology Resources
Looking for information on what Technology Resources you have access to as an online-only student?
Activate Your Account
To activate your WTAMU student account, go to: wtamu.edu/activate Follow the prompts and complete the information. Your will need to know your student ID# as you complete the fields in the activate wizard. You will create your password during the activate process. Passwords are valid for 2 years. You will recieve an email before your password expires. Please remember to change your password before it expires so that your account does not become locked. DUO - 2 Factor Authentication
You will be required to use DUO 2-Factor Authentication to log into any system with confidential data (Buff Advisor, WTClass, etc.). Additional information on DUO two-factor authentication and how to get DUO setup can be found on the WT DUO website.
Buff Connect
Once your account is activated, you will be able to log on to the Buff Connect single sign-on location. You can access the Buff Connect link from the WTAMU home page. Your username will be your first initial of your first name, first initial of your last name in front of your student ID# (For example John Smith might be js1234567).
Accessing and Setting Up Your Email
WTAMU provides all admitted students with a student email account for the primary reason of communicating official university information. Official university communications such as financial aid, scholarships, bills, etc., will be emailed to your student email account. Logging in and checking your email on a frequent basis is highly important to ensure that you do not miss any important notifications!
You can access your student email account two different ways:
- Log in to Buff Connect and click the student email icon at the top of the screen. You will sign it with your student email address, and your Buff Connect password.
- Set up your phone or mobile device to access student email. Doing this will allow you to not need to log in every time you access your email.

What is WTClass?
Our Learning Management System at WTAMU is Blackboard and has been branded as WTClass - this is where you will find your course content. Courses open for students in WTClass 5 days prior to the first day of classes each semester. To check registration until this time, please check Buff Adivsor. Additional information on WTClass can be found on the WTClass Help Website.
How to Get Help
Whenever you have any technology problems, you can contact the Information Technology Success Center (ITSC) to get help. You can contact ITSC by phone, email, or drop by the Marmaduke Internet Innovation Center, room 53.

Get Microsoft Office Professional for FREE
By using your student email account with Office 365, you can download Office 2016 for FREE and install apps on up to 5 computers (PC or Mac) or mobile devices. Additional information on how to download Microsoft Office can be found on the WT Microsoft Office page.
OneDrive
Online Cloud Storage with OneDrive
OneDrive give you access to 1TB of online cloud storage. This gives you the ability to upload and save documents to OneDrive that you are then able to access from anywhere you have an internet connection. A great way to keep all of your documents you submit to your courses in one location!To access your OneDrive go to onedrive.live.com and type in your student email and password. To install OneDrive on your device visit your app store. For instructions and more information on OneDrive visit the Student Support Portal at students.wtamu.edu.
EduRoam Wifi Access
Use your WTAMU Wi-Fi authentication at any eduroam hotspot in the world and join instantly and securely to the WT network. Please use your student email address as your username.
Checking Midterm and Final Grades
Midterm Grades (for CORE classes) and Final Grades (for all courses) can be located within Buff Advisor. Inside of Buff Advisor, click on Grades from the main menu. Select the drop down arrow on the right side of the term you wish to see. Visit the Buff Adivsor page on the Student Support Portal for more information on viewing grades.
